The purpose of a Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) is to protect, preserve, and enhance the environment now and for future generations. CORPs are critical documents that typically include geography, demographics, current conditions inventory, needs assessments for facilities, safe access to park audits, goals, objectives, and a five-year action plan for implementation strategy.

These plans must be completed every five years to be eligible for Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Stewardship grants and other funding. Stewardship grants fund local park infrastructure, boat ramp facilities, trails and land purchases for parks. The City of Menasha last adopted their Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan in 2020.

Public participation is an important part of the comprehensive outdoor recreation planning process as it helps to ensure that the plan accurately reflects the community's vision of parks and recreation spaces. We would like to hear your ideas, thoughts, and opinions on the City's Parks!
